In the band-tying packing machine in which the band is inserted in the band passage 40 which is provided in a packing machine body 2 and formed straight in a substantially U-shaped section, both end sides of the band B are drawn from the middle of the band passage 40 in a deflecting manner in a substantial U-shape, and a preceding end part of the drawn band is inserted in the packing machine body 16 to wind the band around a work to be packed, a jumping plate 22 which can be selectively separated from a bottom side of the passage 40 is disposed in an oscillating manner in the band passage 40, and the jumping plate 22 is turned by a turning means 30 to jump the band B in the band passage 40 and take out the band.
