To surely place an open end of a bag body into a paper tube in bagging a package by sucking the end of the bag body into a suction port at a tip of an advancing member capable of relatively advancing toward the paper tube, and allowing it to penetrate into the paper tube.
A package 2 is placed in a bag body 5 whose open end is expanded, the air is fed into each exhaust port 44 of an advancing member, a suction port 43 is in an evacuated condition, and the open end of the bag body 5 is connected to the suction port 43 for suction. The advancing member is advanced into a paper tube 2A of the package 2 with the open end of the bag body 5 in the sucked condition. The open end of the bag body 5 in which the package 2 has been placed can surely be placed in the paper tube 2A. As the result, the open end of the bag body 5 is sufficiently placed in the paper tube 2A of the package 2, and the open end is not detached from the paper tube 2A while the package is carried.
