To improve the reliability of a product in an axle housing wherein an oil deflector engagement part is formed by flexibly deforming an inner wall, and a manufacturing process in a method of manufacturing the axile housing.
A raised part 22 raised at its one side is formed on the inner wall 19 simultaneously with molding the axle housing 1, and a cutting tool 24 is sent from a raised side of the raised part 22 along the inner wall 19 to raise the raised part 22 to form the oil deflector engagement part 20. Thus, a process for forming the raised part 22 by allowing the cutting tool to bite the inner wall 19, can be eliminated from a conventional axle housing manufacturing process to form the oil deflector engagement part 20 by flexibly deforming the inner wall 19, a problem on the durability of the cutting tool can be solved, and the reliability of the product and the manufacturing process can be improved.
