To provide a bar body cutting machine preparing for the next work by automatically moving a movable blade to the maximum opening position larger than the outer diameter of a bar body after cutting the bar body, and consequently, improving the working efficiency.
The bar body cutting machine has a motor 3, a decelerator 5, a cutting blade drive mechanism 17, and an operation control part 27 for controlling the drive of the motor 3 and cuts the bar body with shearing action by a fixed blade 29 and the movable blade 31. The bar body cutting machine is provided with a release mechanism 14, which is provided to the cutting blade drive mechanism 17, rotates the movable blade 31 in the direction of separating from the fixed part 29 after cutting the bar body, and locates the movable blade 31 to the maximum opening position where the opening distance between the movable blade 31 and the fixed blade 29 is larger than the outer diameter of the bar body, and a detection means 16 for detecting the state that the movable blade 31 is located at the maximum opening position by the release mechanism 14. The bar body cutting machine is characterized in that the operation control part 27 stops the drive of the motor 3 on the basis of the detection results of the detection means 16 and makes the movable blade 31 to stop at the maximum opening position.
