To provide a bar code reader with a built-in measurement means, such as a temperature sensor, to allow for easy and simultaneous reading of bar code data and measuring and determining of an object.

The bar code reader integrated with the temperature sensor comprises a bar code reading means for reading bar codes put on commodities, a temperature and other measurement means for measuring the temperature of the commodities subject to temperature measurement, and an information processing means for storing or transferring information including the temperature determined by the measurement means and information acquired by the bar code reading means as correlated with each other. Using temperature correction data contained in the bar code, along with reading thereof by the bar code reading means, and measurement triggered thereby allow for accurate measurement of temperature and others corresponding to various commodities.
