Title:
BAR CODE READER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3214409
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect bar code width with a simple circuit by simulating that both edges are black despite the actual black and white of a bar code of both edges of a scan section.
SOLUTION: A scanning part 3 vibrates a galvano mirror horizontally, so that laser light that is outputted from a laser diode scans over a bar code 4, which is an object to be read from left to right when a timing signal outputted by a timing signal generating circuit 2 is active and from right to left, when it is inactive. A light-receiving part 5 to be scanned converts a reflected light from the code 4 into an analog signal by a photodetector, which converts reflected light from black into active and converts reflected light from white into inactive. An OR circuit 8 takes logical OR of a binarized signal and a corner detection signal. With this, a compensation binarized signal where the place of uncertain information due to the change in a scan speed in both edge parts of a scan section in the binarized signal is forcedly made active and eliminated by the corner detection signal.
