Title:
BAR CODE SCANNER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05314297
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accelerate read processing speed by improving the degree of freedom for a direction to read bar codes by providing a biaxial optical scan means and plural Fresnel lenses.

CONSTITUTION: A biaxial optical scanner 4 is composed of a vibrating body 4b to generate piezoelectric vibrations and an optical reflecting board 4a to be oscillated by the pizeoelectric vibrations. The optical reflecting board 4a is oscillated with two axes orthogonal each other as a center. A Fresnel lens unit 5 is provided with eight circular holes on the periphery and fits the Fresnel lenses to the respective holes. The orbit of reflected beams outputted from a laser beam source 1 and reflected on the optical reflecting board 4a is passed on the eight Fresnel lenses. Although the incidental light orbit of the laser beams to the respective Fresnel lenses draws a circular arc, the respective Fresnel lenses bend the light so that the or bit of emitted light to the object plane of transmitted light can be made linear. A photodetector 3 photodetects irregularly reflected light from the almost entire bar code B forming plane of merchandise A.
