To provide a bar-stock stacking apparatus 2 capable of allowing round steel bars 12 which is less apt to be damaged.

The stacking apparatus 2 includes a table 4, a pocket 6 and a moving mechanism 8. An upper surface 10 of the table 4 is inclined right downward. A large number of round steel bars 12 are loaded on the upper surface 10. Any rolling of the round steel bars 12 is prevented by a stopper 13. When the stopper 13 is lowered, the round steel bars 12 drop toward a pocket 6. The pocket 6 includes a fixed wall 14, a movable wall 16, a conveying roller 18 and a lifter 20. The moving mechanism 8 includes a base 32, a rack gear 34 and a pinion gear 36. The movable wall 16 is moved by the rotation of the pinion gear 36. The inner width W of the pocket 6 fluctuates according to the movement. The lifter 20 is movable in the vertical directions.
