Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the dust collection efficiency and durability in a ceramic structure contg. plural through holes in parallel and with the specified open end of each through hole sealed by sealing a structure to keep a high dust sealing property.
CONSTITUTION: A sealant consisting of a ceramic powder, sodium silicate and sodium silicofluoride or a sealant consisting essentially of the three materials is used. Consequently, the adhesiveness between the ceramic particles constituting the sealant and the adhesiveness between the ceramic particle and the inner wall of the through hole of the structure are enhanced, the pitting at the center of the through hole in the sealant is prevented, and cracking in the filled sealant is obviated. Since the sealant need not be calcined at high temp., the sealant need not be calcined when applied to the calcined ceramic structure, hence the sealant is not cracked in calcination, and the structure is not deformed.
