Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a warping in burning to produce no clearance between front and back plates and to prevent deterioration in quality of a thin flat-panel display by forming a notched part on an upper face of an edge neighborhood part in the lengthwise direction of a barrier rib layer in such a manner that the notched part is perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the barrier rib layer.
SOLUTION: When a mask pattern is formed before a barrier rib layer 29 is burnt, a slit-shaped cut line is provided at a position corresponding to a required notched part 52 on an upper face of an edge neighborhood part in the lengthwise direction of the barrier plate layer 29 to form the slit-shaped notched part 52 by sand blasting. When the barrier rib layer 29 is burnt to form a barrier rib 31, the barrier plate 31 substantially shrinks in its lengthwise direction, however, a the notched part 52 can cut off a tensile force in the lengthwise direction to prevent an extreme end of the barrier rib 31 from being warped. Therefore, a front plate 11 and a back plate 21 are superposed to assemble a panel, in this case, a clearance cannot be produced between the front plate 11 and the barrier rib 21.
