PURPOSE: To provide an ID card wherein a UV curing protective layer is not peeled off even after a long time use, excellent in durability, a transfer image is kept on clearly over a long time and important personal information can be kept on reliably and to provide a method of manufacturing the ID, ID card.
CONSTITUTION: In a base 11 for an ID card, it has an image-formable image receiving layer 2, which performs typical format information by printing and is image-formable by receiving heat-diffusing dyes, on a substrate 1, a transparent resin layer 4 is provided on an area where at least the typical format information is printed and in an area where an image is formed by receiving the heat-diffusing dyes, the surface of the image receiving layer 2 is exposed. Then in the area where the surface of the image receiving layer 2 of the base 11 for the ID card, image recording by heat transfer of the heat-diffusing dyes is performed and recording of text information by melting type heat transfer is performed in a fixed area where the transparent resin layer 4 is provided.
