To provide a base isolation device eliminating the possibility of exerting ill effects on a stored exhibit due to illumination while maintaining base isolation performance.
The base isolation device comprises a lower face plate 12 placed on a floor, an upper face plate 13 supported on the lower face plate 12 so as to be movable horizontally, and an energy absorbing mechanism for absorbing kinetic energy of the lower face plate 12 and the upper face plate 13 when relatively moved in the horizontal direction. A light source projector 14 is fixed onto the upper face plate 13 and a optical fiber 15 is connected to the light source projector 14. A projection portion 17 is formed at the end of the optical fiber 15 and a light emitted in the light source projector 14 is guide to the projection portion 17 via the optical fiber for projecting light on an exhibit 3.
