Title:
BASE ISOLATION FITTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09217875
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reliably prevent breakage of pipings by a method wherein a wide displacement and a high stress exerted on pipings due to an earthquake are absorbed with a margin left.

A base isolation fitting 10 is formed such that an elastic pipe 12 of synthetic resin, such as polyethylene, is caused to effect one full turn and fitting parts 15 and 15 are arranged at the two end parts thereof. The synthetic resin 12 is connected to a solid main piping 14, such as a metallic pipe, through a fitting 20. A stress deformation of the synthetic resin pipe 12 is concentrated to the fitting 20 and occurs as a local stress. However, the local stress is transmitted to a cover 16 made of a metal, arranged at the periphery of the fitting 20, through a buffering material 19, and breakages of the fitting 15 and the synthetic resin pipe 12 are prevented from occurring.
