Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide base paper for gypsum plaster board capable of economically being improved in adhesion between a gypsum layer and base paper for the gypsum plaster board.
SOLUTION: This base paper for gypsum plaster board, prepared through making multilayer paper, has the ratio of length to breath in the fiber orientation of pulp constituting a paper layer in contact with a gypsum layer is ≤1.5 according to ultrasonic measurement. It is possible to change the ratio of length to breadth in the fiber orientation by changing the ratio of the extrusion speed of paper stock (containing pulp) through an inlet to the wire speed (i.e., a jet wire ratio). The jet-wire ratio is ordinarily determined in such a way as to be suitable for the papermaking machine while observing the formation of paper, the strength of paper or other qualities.
