To efficiently produce a raw paper for twisted paper products in which fiber is oriented in MD direction by a Fourdrinier machine.
Paper raw material slurry to which a viscosity control agent is added is made into paper in 90 to 80% ratio of Jet/Wire by the Fourdrinier machine. As a result, fiber orientation angle is concentrated in a range of -10° to +10° by using a traveling direction line of the Fourdrinier wire as an axis. The viscosity control agent is obtained by adding polyethylene oxide or polyacrylamide in an amount of 0.1 to 1% based on weight of absolutely dried pulp. A needle-leaved tree pulp having a large aspect ratio is preferably used as the paper raw material. The raw material water-filtrating rate of Fourdrinier machine on a wire part is preferably adjusted in a range of 450 to 700cc CSF. In the resultant paper, vertical tensile strength is adjusted in a range of 2.0 to 4.0 kg in ≤35 g/m2 unit weight and a ratio of Y/T of tensile strength is adjusted to 10-40% and horizontal tear strength is adjusted in a range of 100 to 300 mN in ≤ 35g/m2 unit weight. The raw paper is twisted into string shape and used as a string-shaped paper product.
