Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a base station.SOLUTION: A base station for transmitting data received from a network to a radio terminal has: a transmission section for transmitting a radio signal to the radio terminal; a radio resource allocation section for determining a temporary allocation radio resource for temporarily allocating data to use for data transmission on the basis of size of the data to the radio terminal and quality of a radio communication path with the radio terminal, and allocating the radio resource with the content when the temporarily allocated radio resource satisfies a predetermined standard; and a transmission control section for allowing the transmission section to transmit the data to the radio terminal using the allocated radio resource when the radio resource allocation section allocates the radio resource and for stopping a transmission function of the transmission section when the radio resource allocation section does not allocate the radio resource.
