To provide a base station device which can reduce interference between the base station and a peripheral base station or a mobile station to secure communication of high quality, without performing inter-base station synchronization for interference prevention which has problems of costs and constraints by installation locations of base stations.
A base station device measures power or strength of a given frequency band assigned to signals which are periodically transmitted from a mobile station to a macro base station (peripheral base station) locating in the periphery of the base station, determines existence of a neighboring mobile station communicating with the peripheral base station on the basis of a probability density function or frequency distribution calculated for the measured power or strength, and changes its own transmission power when it is determined that the neighboring mobile station exists.
