Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make effective use of a battery by preventing a substantially chargeable and dischargeable range from narrowing when the battery is deteriorated. SOLUTION: This method charges and discharges the battery by predetermining a discharging upper limit which is larger than a completely discharged condition, and a charging lower limit which causes the remaining capacity of the battery 1 to be smaller than a fully charged condition. This method also calculates the remaining capacity of the battery 1, and charges and discharges the battery while controlling the remaining capacity to a charging and discharging allowable range between the discharging upper limit value and the charging lower limit. This method, when maximum charging capacity decreases, also decreases the discharging upper limit value and corrects the charging lower limit value so as to be large.
