Title:
BATTERY CHARGER FOR MOTOR DRIVEN VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3542179
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate deterioration of a battery due to over-charging even if the battery is charged by regenerative braking when the battery temperature is high by suppressing the maximum value of regenerative brake power when the temperature detected by the sensor is higher than a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: A PDU 5 is interposed between a battery 1 and a motor 2 to control the drive of the motor 2 by the battery 1 and to control the charging of the battery by the power generated from the motor 2 upon regenerative braking. When the temperature detected by a battery temperature sensor 21 is higher than 50°C, the limit value of regenerative brake power is gradually lowered upon rising of the battery temperature by a brake ECU 7, a motor control ECU 6 and the PDU 5. Thus, even if the battery is charged by regenerative braking when the temperature is high, deterioration of the battery by over- charging is eliminated.
