To achieve efficient and accurate warming-up, while improving the fuel consumption, when charging a battery, using regenerative power.
When an ignition switch is turned on, an HVECU reads a battery temperature; and when the battery temperature becomes lower than a set temperature, the HVECU performs warming-up control (steps 100, 102). The warming-up control includes: setting the target capacity of the battery to a target SOCL which is lower than a normal target SOC; reading the capacity C of the battery, when the engine is started; and performing the forced discharging of the battery, when the capacity C is larger than the target SOCL(steps 106 to 118). In this case, while charging with the driving force of the engine is inhibited, the charging of a regenerative power is performed. A battery temperature is increased by heating according to the charging/discharging of the battery so that it is possible to quickly and surely perform warming-up of the battery, while the specific fuel consumption of the engine is improved.
