SOLUTION: The battery control device that controls operation of a battery connected to an electric power system includes: communication means for transmitting status information representing a state of the battery to an external device and receiving individual operation control information for controlling operation of the battery from the external device at predetermined intervals or at an indefinite interval; and control means for controlling the operation of the battery on the basis of the operation control information at a time interval shorter than the predetermined interval or an indefinite interval.EFFECT: Operation of a battery can be adjusted according to a change in a state of an actual power system while following operation control information, since the operation of the battery is controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
