Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery cooling structure of an electric vehicle which can increase the cooling efficiency of a battery which is charged without causing problems regarding the installation space and structural complications.
SOLUTION: In this battery cooling structure, outside air is introduced by cooling fans 19-22 into a battery case 17 for a battery 4 via an air introduction channel 9 and, at the same time, the air in the battery case 17 is exhausted outside via an air exhaust channel 9', and thereby the battery 4 is cooled while charging. In this case, the structure includes a battery temperature detecting means 33 for detecting the temperature of the battery being charged and a cooling fan control means (charger) 27 for controlling the revolution of the cooling fans 19-22, based on the detected temperature, and the air introduction channel 9 and the air exhaust channel 9' are formed by a space between an inner panel 8 and an outer panel 7, which constitute side panel 6, 6' of the vehicle body.
