To provide a battery having an excellent battery characteristic by improving a dispersion state of an electron-conducting material and a conduction assistant inside an active material layer to secure a contact point between the active material and them, and also to provide its manufacturing method.
The active material, the electron-conducting material and the conduction assistant are included in the active material layer of this battery equipped with first and second electrodes and a separator, hydrophobicity is imparted to one of the the electron-conducting material and the conduction assistant, and hydrophilicity is imparted to the other. In order to impart the hydrophilicity, any of ultraviolet irradiation, acid solution immersion and surface active agent treatment is applied, and a functional group of at least one of a hydroxyl group, a carbonyl group and a sulfonic acid group is imparted.
