To provide a battery-operated passenger golf cart having stable braking forces and capable of being parked on inclines even during automatic driving.

Three braking systems, i.e., regenerative braking of a driving motor 4, drum brakes 10a-d, and an electromagnetic brake 15, are used in combination. During normal driving, the regenerative braking of the driving motor and the drum brakes 10a-d are used to brake vehicle speed. When the vehicle speed is zero, the electromagnetic brake 15 is automatically applied to allow parking. If the regenerative braking of the driving motor or the drum brakes 10a-d fails or if braking is not sufficient even with the combination of these brakes, the vehicle may be stopped by using the electromagnetic brake 15 as well.
