To provide a battery pack having a protection capability to stop the charging/discharging capability of the battery pack so that the battery pack is never used when excessive external impact such as dropping or the like is applied onto the battery pack.
On a battery pack, a negative electrode 1b and a PTC element 2 on a battery 1 are connected by means of a tab 41, while a positive electrode 1a and a protective circuit substrate 3 with a charging/discharging terminal 3a on the battery 1 are connected by means of a tab 42, and the PTC element 2 and the protective circuit substrate 3 are respectively connected with a negative electrode tab 43 and a positive electrode tab 44 each having a contact part 51 and a contact part 52 on one end, and are both packaged in a case 0. A magnet 6 is disposed at a lateral side of the battery 1, and the contact part 51 and the contact part 52 come in contact with each other by an absorptive power of the magnet 6 under a normal use condition to hold a conducting state. In the event that any impact such as dropping or the like is applied, holding by means of the magnet 6 is deactivated to shut off the conducting state and stop the charging/discharging.
