Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an electric hair curler into which an unique safety means is assembled by placing a plug means at almost the longitudinal center of a hollow housing member, rolling a heating element having a conducting means covered with an insulator, placing the heating element in a rod-shaped body, and extending the heating element in the longitudinal direction of the rod-shaped body. CONSTITUTION: A switch 5 enclosing a sliding plate 7 is placed on a handle 1, and when the opening 10 of the handle 1 is opened by moving the sliding plate 7 to the right, a plug 11 can be drawn out through the opening 10 and inserted into a wall socket. At an on position where the sliding plate 7 connects a fixed contact member 17 to a flexible contact member 19, a heating element 21 and a LED 2 are both connected to a battery 23, and at a recharging position the battery 23 and the LED 2 are both connected to an AC power supply and a current flows form the battery 23, heating the heating element 21. The heating element 21 located inside a rod-shaped body 3 comprises metallic foil strands 31, which are covered with an insulating Kapton film layer 33, with the Kapton film rolled to form a roll member.
