To easily grasp available remaining volume of a battery even with electronic equipment having a function-limiting mode, in the case of a battery remaining volume display device for electronic equipment driven by either a dry battery or a rechargeable battery.
A display pattern of battery remaining volume is made switchable between an NOR mode display and an ECO mode display with a normal driving mode (NOR) in which no function limiting is made of an LCD backlight of large power consumption and an economical driving mode (ECO) with function limiting. At the NOR mode display at the normal driving mode (NOR), a battery mark of battery remainder 'medium' is usually switched to that of battery remainder 'low' when a voltage level VL of a batter power source E gets lower than 4 V, but in stead, it is so adjusted that the battery mark of battery remainder 'medium' continues to be displayed until the level gets down to 3 V and switched to the mark of battery remainder 'low' only after the level get lower than 3 V.
