To provide a battery state detector which surely detects the exchange of a battery.
The apparatus includes a battery 60, equipment 101, 102, ... which is supplied with power via a power supply circuit 100 from the battery, a backup battery connector which connects a backup battery 70 that can supply power to the equipment 101, 102, ... connected via the power supply circuit 100 when the battery 60 is removed, and a battery state detecting sensor 10, which detects the state of the battery 60 via the power supply circuit 100. It detects battery exchange by detecting: the drop of a current value in the power supply circuit 100 accompanying the removal of the battery 60 after mounting of the battery voltage 70; and the excess of a current value in the power supply circuit 100 after exchange of the battery over a specified threshold.
