To provide a general-purpose battery system by keeping energy balance among cell batteries and among module batteries, including two or more cell batteries, based on the accurate voltage of the cell batteries.
In the battery system, two or more module batteries 10 including two or more cell batteries 1 connected in series are connected, and each of two or more module batteries detects a cell voltage generated at each of two or more cell batteries, and generates a cell voltage signal. The battery system includes a cell voltage detection/inter-cell balancing circuit 2 for equalizing the energy between cell batteries based on the generated cell voltage signal, and an intermodule balancing circuit 3 for equalizing the energy between module batteries based on the module voltage as the sum of all cell voltages generated by two or more cell batteries.
