To improve a weight balance and to improve operability by installing a pair of saw wheel bases for supporting saw wheels on both sides of a motor housing, installing the front end part on one saw wheel base, and installing a battery in the handle rear end part extending in the housing lengthwise direction.
In a housing 1 for housing a DC motor 7, saw wheel bases 4, 5 for rotatably supporting saw wheels 2, 3 are installed on both sides so that a band saw 6 is extended between the saw wheels 2, 3. A handle 14 extends in the lengthwise direction of the housing 1 by installing the front end in the upper part of the saw wheel base 4, a battery 17 is detachably installed in the rear end part, and the rear is installed in the lower part of the saw wheel base 4 through a stay 16. When turning on a switch 15 the battery 17 drives the motor 7, and the saw wheel 2 is revolvingly driven to cut a material by the band saw 6. The material can be cut without projecting the motor 7 from the cutting surface, a cutting place is not specified and the center of gravity is positioned in the vicinity of the handle 14 to improve operability.
