To provide a cylindrical secondary battery in which a joint cap and the can main body are welded and connected with larger welding heat than usual.
In the cylindrical secondary battery, a rolled electrode body 4 is housed in the interior of a battery can 1 in which a disk shape sealed body 2 is mounted on the opening part of the cylindrical main body 11, and electric power generated by the rolled electrode body 4 can be taken out of a pair of positive and negative electrode terminal parts 10, 20 to the outside. The can main body 11 is constituted by integrally molding a cylindrical surrounding wall 16 and a disk shape bottom wall 17 to occlude the one side opening of the surrounding wall 16, and the one side electrode terminal part 10 is constituted of the bottom wall 17, and the surrounding wall 16 is constituted of a thick-walled surrounding wall part 13 of the bottom wall 17 side and a thin-walled surrounding wall part 14 of the sealed body 2 side.
