PURPOSE: To obtain a battery using P/F effect which has high energy efficiency, no heavy water D2O consumption, no need of a device for converting deuterium gas and oxygen gas into heavy water, high heat conduction capability and easy heat takeout.
CONSTITUTION: A battery is formed as a sealed structure box constituted of at least insulator vessel 5. On a heat conductor 4 constituting the wall of the box or existing inside of the box, a negative electrode 2 of deuterium absorbing alloy in plate or film shape is thermally coupled. The heat conductor is coupled with a thermal electric conversion element 6 for converting heat to electric energy. In the box, a plate positive electrode 1 is arranged facing to the negative electrode 2 and between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, electrolysis liquid 3 made mainly of heavy water is contained keeping a space in the top. In another space in the box, deuterium gas is pressure charged.
