Title:
BATTERY USING SEMI-PERMEABLE FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006228623
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a battery using an acidic or alkaline electrolytic solution that uses semi-permeable films which have a long charge/discharge cycle service life because of high energy density and because of no increase of the internal resistance, which are re-chargeable until the minimum remaining voltage value becomes a low value, and which do not impose burden on an environment in disposal without needing violent poisons such as sulfuric acid and pottasium hydroxide in the case of the electrolytic solution in a lead-acid battery and a nickel hydrogen (NiMH) battery, that is, without substantially causing any pollution.

This is the battery which includes at least a positive electrode, a negative electrode, the electrolytic solution, and the semi-permeable films through which the moisture of the electrolytic solution is not selectively permeated, and the positive electrode and the negative electrode are isolated from the electrolytic solution by the semi-permeable films. It is preferable that the electrolytic solution contains an acidic electrolytic solution of pH 1 to 4 or an alkaline electrolytic solution of pH 9 to 14 which is obtained from seawater by using only a physical means without using a chemical means.
