PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which can include a safety valve having high reliability and show a low resistance value.SOLUTION: A battery 10 according to an embodiment includes a container 1, a lid body 2, a safety valve 22, an electrode group 3, an intermediate lead 4, and a terminal lead 5. The safety valve 22 is mounted on the lid body 2. The electrode group 3 has an end surface opposite to the lid body 2 and includes a plurality of current collector tabs 31 and 32 extending from the end surface. The intermediate lead 4 contains a first lead junction part 4b, an electrode group junction part 4a, and a leg part 4c. The electrode group junction part 4a is connected with the plurality of current collector tabs 31 and 32. The leg part 4c binds the first lead junction part 4b and the electrode group junction part 4a so as to be positioned on different plane surfaces. The terminal lead 5 contains a lid junction part 5a and a second lead junction part 5b. The lid junction part 5a is connected to the lid body 2. The second lead junction part 5b is connected to the first lead junction part 4b.
