PURPOSE: To simplify positioning work, and also to facilitate connecting work.
CONSTITUTION: The end of an H-beam 12 is inserted into the connecting hole 15 of a cover plate 16, and then the end surface 14A of another H-beam 14 is placed opposite to the end surface 12A of the H-beam 12 with a prescribed gap therebetween. Then, the cover plate 16 is slided onto the connecting parts of the H-beam 12 and H-beam 14 so as cover the connecting part. At prescribed positions of the H-beams 12, 14 and the cover plate 16, erection pieces are welded. The erection pieces are connected by a splice plate 34 (not shown) to each other and are connected by means of bolts and nuts, so that the H- beams 12, 14 and the cover plate 16 are temporarily fixed. Packing is fitted all around the entire circumference of the connecting hole 15 in such a condition that the H-beams 12, 14 have been inserted. A filler 24 (not shown) is injected into the gap 18 (not shown) through a filling port 16A in a fluidic condition. When the filler 24 reaches every part of the gap 18 and hardens, the H-beam 12 and the H-beam 14 are strongly fixed.
