Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that enlargement of a device scale is required by, for example, the use of a plurality of antennas required for filling a gap generated in the lateral direction of a beam caused by raising a rotational speed of an antenna in order to heighten a data rate of a radar device.
SOLUTION: The antenna 1 performs mechanical rotation in the azimuth direction and electronic scanning in the elevation angle direction. The rotational speed of the antenna 1 is raised to double, and the open face of the antenna 1 is halved (1A, 1B), and beams to be radiated from both open faces are radiated simultaneously in parallel in the elevation angle direction, and the number of beam positions (6A, 6B) in the elevation angle direction of each open face is halved. Since a one-time elevation angle scanning time is shortened by halving the number of the beam positions, a beam gap is not generated even if the scanning speed in the azimuth direction is raised. Both beams stop respective gaps in the elevation angle direction as shown in an overall beam position 8.
