To transform a pattern of light projected on an object with a simple configuration.
The beam transformer 1 includes: a plurality of optical waveguides 131 to 133 which have an incident end face which receives light projected from a light source 11 and an emission end face which emits the received light; an objective optical system 15 which projects the light emitted from the emission end face onto a work W; and a positioning mechanism 14 which disposes at least one of the plurality of optical waveguides at a position at which the light from the light source 11 is received by changing the relative positions of at least one of the plurality of optical waveguides 131 to 133 and the light source 11. The intensity distribution of the light emitted at the emission end face of at least one of the optical waveguides disposed by the positioning mechanism 14 is different from the intensity distribution of the light emitted at the emission end face of at least one of the other optical waveguides.
