To provide a bearing apparatus for a wheel, which bearing apparatus can be ground without causing the run-out in the squareness between a brake disk mounting surface of the flange portion of a hub and the bearing portion of a shaft body portion, in other words, without causing "face run-out", and can reduce the number of machining processes.
The bearing apparatus for the wheel comprises an inner member 11 having a flange portion and a shaft body portion forming an inner raceway surface of the bearing portion, an outer member 13 having a flange portion 13a and a raceway surface of the bearing portion, rolling elements 15 to be arranged between the inner member and the outer member, and bolts 18 for fixing a brake disk 17 and the wheel to the flange portion 11a of the inner member. A plurality of female screws are provided on the flange portion of the inner member or the flange portion of the outer member. The bolt 18 is composed of a large-diameter male screw portion 18a to be screwed with the female screw and a small-diameter male screw portion 18b having an opposite hand male screw smaller than the diameter of the thread of the large-diameter male screw.
