To easily secure a required amount of oil and required hydraulic pressure and reduce the size of a bearing retainer member in an axial direction of a rotary shaft, by utilizing a part of a rolling bearing to form a side oil path for communicating with retainer-side oil paths provided in the bearing retainer member for retaining the rolling bearing and a shaft-side oil path provided in the rotary shaft supported by the rolling bearing.
The bearing device A includes the rolling bearing B having rollers R for supporting the camshaft 1 and the cam holder H for retaining the rolling bearing B. The retainer-side oil paths 31, 32 provided in the cam holer H and the shaft-side oil path 34 provided in the camshaft 1 communicate with each other via the side oil path 36 provided on the side portion of the rollers R of the rolling bearing B in the axial direction of the camshaft 1. The side oil path 36 is formed by a rim 22 constituting a seal portion on a side portion E of the rolling bearing B.
