Abstract:
PURPOSE:To supply lubricant securely every revolution of a universal joint by a method wherein, on a slide surface which conducts a reciprocating swing every revolution of the universal joint, a plurality of discontinuous projections are provided in a peripheral and a radial direction under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:In every revolution of a universal joint, one relative reciprocating motion occurs in a peripheral direction between two slide surfaces consisting of a trunnion 4 end face and the bottom surface of a bearing case 1. The swing angle is twice as much as the fixing angle theta of the universal joint. In such a case, one of the said slide surfaces, for example, the inner bottom surface of the bearing case 1 is constituted by a corrugation surface having a plurality of projections which are discontinuous in a peripheral and a radial direction and width B of the largest arc of a projection 10 in the peripheral direction is constituted so that B<=2thetaXR can be obtained for the swing amount between the slide surfaces, 2thetaXR. And, the diameter D of the projection 10 is increased as it moves from the inner diameter side to the outer diameter side.
