Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a constant velocity joint with a hollow shaft part by fastening a nut without backlash in axial direction, and to reduce the effect on a preload to a double row rolling bearing by nut fastening.
SOLUTION: An outer ring 31 of the constant velocity joint is connected to a hub wheel with a nut 36i which is threadedly engaged with a screwed shaft part 36h in an outer ring shaft part 36 of the constant velocity joint 3 being flatly placed upon a vehicle outer side end face of the hollow shaft part 12 of the hub wheel 1, a cutaway 12k of peripheral groove is provided near to a vehicle outer side end portion of the hollow shaft part as a low rigidity section which allows elastic compression in axial direction with fastening the nut, and due to the elastic compression of the low rigidity section under the action of the fastening torque of the nut, the effect on a preload to a double row rolling bearing by the torque is reduced.
