To provide a bearing device for a wheel in which a shape of a wheel fixing flange is drastically changed to attain a substantial small-sized and light weight arrangement and at the same time a fixing force for a hub bolt is stabilized to improve a reliability in operation.

This bearing device comprises an outer member 2 having a plurality of rows of outer race surfaces 2a at its inner circumference, a hub wheel 4 having integrally a wheel fixing flange 6 at one end, formed with an inner race surface 4a at its outer circumference and a small-diameter step part 4b extending axially from the inner race surface 4a, and an inner ring 5 press fitted to the small-diameter step part 4b and formed with an inner race surface 5a at its outer circumference. The wheel fixing flange 6 is formed with a plurality of partial flanges 6a recessed at a part except a location near a bolt insertion hole 8 and projected radially from the base part substantially with the same width as that of the formed part. This partial flange 6a is set to have a wall thickness around the bold insertion hole with a relation of h{-(d/D)2}/d≥0.335, where h is a wall thickness, D is a width and (d) is a diameter of the bolt insertion hole.
