In the bearing device for the vehicle, an outer coupling member 14 is axially fixed to a hub wheel 1 by the caulking part 21 formed by plastically deforming an end of a shaft part 20 of the outer coupling member 14 to an outside in a radial direction. A taper-like female screw 22 is formed on the end of the shaft part 20 and a taper plug 23 formed with a male screw 23a thread-engaged with the female screw 22 on an outer periphery is fastened. A predetermined cured layer 11 is formed by induction hardening of a serration 1c of the hub wheel 1, a predetermined twist angle relative to an axis is provided on the serration 20b of the shaft part 20, and a part of an outer side is still made to the raw state of non-hardening. Thereby, the serration 20b of the shaft part 20 is diameter-enlarged and a radial rattling of the engagement part can be suppressed to increase strength of the caulking part 21.
