To provide a bearing device for a wheel achieving drastic cost reduction by reducing the number of components and standardizing a bearing.
The bearing device for the wheel includes a hub drum 1 in which a wheel mounting flange 6 is integrally provided at one end of a cylindrical base 5 and a cylindrical brake drum 8 extended axially from the outer end of the wheel mounting flange 6 is continuously provided; an axle 4 which has a vehicle body mounting flange 9 integrally and in which a shaft 10 axially extended from the vehicle body mounting flange 9 and a small diameter step 13 extended further axially from the shaft 10 via a shoulder 12 are formed; and deep groove ball bearings 2, 3 comprising a pair of standard series products fitted to the both members 1, 4. The inner diameter of the deep groove ball bearing 2 at the inner side is set larger than that of the deep groove ball bearing 3 in outer side, and a clearance between the pair of deep groove ball bearings 2, 3 is set to be a negative clearance by being press-fit to the base 5 via predetermined interference. Thus, this structure prevents the generation of a creep and enhances bearing rigidity by preventing looseness.
