To provide a sliding element capable of elongating its service life.
In this bearing element composed of a protective layer 2, a bearing metallic layer 3 coating the protective layer 2, and a sliding layer 4 formed by spattering on the bearing metallic layer 3, a sliding coating material layer 5 is formed on the sliding layer 4. The sliding coating material layer 5 includes at least one thermoplastic resin as its main component.
