Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the substitution rate with coke and to avert an air permeation defect by blowing a large amt. of pulverized coal, thereby suppressing the formation of unburned char and completely annihilating the unburned char within a raceway.
CONSTITUTION: A burner to be introduced from the side wall part of a blast branch pipe is made into double pipes in the case of blowing of the pulverized coal from tuyere parts into a blast furnace. Gaseous fuel (natural gas, coke furnace gas, gaseous propane, etc.) is blown from the inside pipe of the double pipes and the pulverized coal is blown from the outside pipe. The blowing rate of the gaseous fuel is so adjusted that the atmosphere temp. of the release position of the pulverized coal blown from the outside pipe is kept at 1500 to 2000°C by the combustion heat of the gaseous fuel blown from the inside pipe.
