Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the effective diameter of a hole for inserting and detaching a balancer shaft by forming stop portions which are brought into contact with the inside surface of a balancer bearing and adapted to check the movement of a bearing into a cylinder block on only one portion of each bearing holding holes, respectively. CONSTITUTION:At the time of casting a cylinder block 21, a rib 32 integral with a boss portion of a crankshaft hole 23 is set in such a manner that the width (W) thereof is a little larger than the space (t) between bearing holding holes of a balancer bearing metal 25, and projected as stop portions for checking the axial inward movement of bearings 30, 31 to the radial inside of bearing holding holes 26, 27. A bearing fixing plate 34 is fastened to the outside surface of the cylinder block 21 by a bolt 35, and the inside surface thereof is engaged with the outer race outside surface 30, 31 to the cylinder block 21.
