Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a bearing, remarkably improved in seizure resistance in particular, and a material for this bearing by uniformly mixing an Al-Sn-Cu atomized powder and a Cu or Cu-Pb atomized powder and sintering the resulting powder mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The bearing material is obtained by uniformly mixing an Al-Sn- Cu atomized powder and a Cu or Cu-Pb atomized powder and sintering the resulting powder mixture or by applying Ni or Cu plating to the surface of an Al-Sn-Cu atomized powder to form a plated powder, uniformly mixing this powder and a Cu or Cu-Pb atomized powder, and sintering the resulting powder mixture. The bearing is obtained by forming the bearing material on a backing plate and also forming an overlay on the sliding surface of the bearing material and further forming an Ni or Cu plating layer on the position between the sliding surface and the overlay.
