Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy in the measuring of the bearing by correcting the bearing in measuring on the vertically polarized wave surface based on the data in measuring on the horizontally polarized wave surface.

CONSTITUTION: When radio wave emitted from a measuring subject comes in the air, the component of the vertically polarized wave of the incoming radio wave is transmitted to a bearing measuring receiver 3 via an antenna 1 for receiving the vertically polarized wave and a sense antenna 2 whereby the field intensity of vertically polarized wave surface is measured along with the bearing of the radio wave. At the same time, the component of the horizontally polarized wave is transmitted to a horizontally polarized wave receiver 5 from the antenna 4 for receiving horizontally polarized wave whereby the bearing within the horizontal plane and the field intensity of the horizontally polarized wave surface are measured. A comparison is made between the field intensity of the vertically and horizontally polarized wave surfaces in the bearing outputted from the receivers 3 and 5 to correct the bearing data outputted from the bearing receiver 3 and the bearing data corrected is outputted to an output terminal 7.
