PURPOSE: To provide bearing metal by which strength of separative crack resistance is improved and a separative crack is easily inspected by forming one among a tin plating-applied copper fine wire, an aluminium fine wire and an aluminium alloy fine wire in a net shape, and embedding it in a soft metallic layer composed of one of white metal and aluminium-tin alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A net-like copper fine wire 5 is cast in white metal 2 composed mainly of 5 to 13% antimony, 2 to 8.5% copper and 0 to 2% cadmium having a tin group on an inside surface of base metal 1 after it is fixed to the base metal 1 by spot welding by a copper or copper alloy welding rod by keeping away from an oil groove 4a, 4b part, and terminals 6a and 6b of a copper wire are exposed outside of the white metal 2. Therefore, the white metal 2 and the net-like copper fine wire 5 become a composite material, and the net-like copper fine wire 5 improves fatigue strength, that is, strength of separative crack resistance of the white metal 2. When electric resistance between the terminals 6a and 6b of the copper fine wire is monitored, since an electric resistance base changes when the white metal 2 is separated and the copper fine wire is cut off, the occurrence of a separative crack can be detected.
